Have you ever stuck to these questions? Career. How will I balance my time between my work and my son, husband, and family? Family. How we can save for our future if the household’s income is just enough for the soaring expenses from our child’s education to everyday necessities? Both. How can I do it? Where and When I should start?
For sure, many of us can relate to these questions, worries, and fears in our lives.
My story is one of the many moms or individuals who are wishing and praying that they can be with their families while working. To feel the embrace of your son when things get tough and see the smiling faces of your loved ones when things get rough.
I was once a career woman who’s working 8 hours a day, my schedule was shifting but it was good. I have a stable career with a high salary in one of the biggest Airport Retail company in UAE. Sudden event in our life made me decide without a blink of an eye to leave my stable and high paying job. I gave birth to my beautiful son and our plan to bring my grandmother to take care of him did not pushed through. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died 3 weeks exactly the day I gave birth. Giving birth to my son was the happiest day of our lives from my husband’s side (first grandchild) to my family side (first great-grandchild) but the most painful and the saddest day was when I lost unexpectedly the person who raised me and my sister and actually the whole clan; my Lola. Nobody sees it was coming and not no one thinks it will be that soonest. I am so hurt but I believe that God has a plan and reason for everything; besides God is good for one important life was taken but one special has been born.
First time being a mother can be tough and challenging especially if you are far away from your own country that you have your family and relatives to ask what are the do’s and dont’s, how it should be done and so on. Motherhood at the same time is fulfilling, inspiring and the feeling every day of being in love with your child is so precious. I am grateful to digital era now for I can read articles and check sites where I can learn a thing or two on how to do this and that in handling my son. To prepare for the stages and phases that will come along though I know that every kid’s development is different.
Fast forward, my son grew up and now in preschool and soon will be in grade school. Education in a foreign country is expensive for a normal family like us. Nowadays, not only the education is becoming expensive but also down to the necessity that we are using and spending every day. As a wife, I wanted to help my husband in our expenses for us to be able to save for our family’s future and same time be a hands-on mother to my son.
This digital era has huge impact and advantage to the society and to our present lives. We are updated of what’s happening around the world, we know the latest technology and trends and most of all, we can have all the ideas and ways which we can use for our self-development and improvement. Ideas and ways that can change our lives, that we can inspire and help others.
Personally, I used social media as a tool where I watch videos that I can learn something in whatever aspect of my life, about motherhood, life, relationships, cooking, livelihood, and work. I followed, subscribed and liked inspiring individuals that are stable and experienced digitally and virtually. Being a stay at home mom, I was inspired by these people that earning from home, became an entrepreneur and some at a young age they’re established. They make use of social media for their advantage to earn, learn and inspire. #virtualassistant #freelance #virtualassitantservices. This made me believe that as a full-time mother it is possible to be #workathome, I just need to start and take my “little step”. As the saying goes, “Take a small step every day” for as long as we are in the right direction, that will bring us closer to our goal #workathomemom.
My small step begun when I stumbled to one of the shared post on Facebook that FVA Academy have offered for their online courses. After my husband and I checked the site and discussed, I enrolled myself in a Freelance Virtual Assistant course where I can learn the basic and general virtual assistant tasks. It’s a new field and adventure for me after many years being a full-time mother. Learning virtually is different and can be challenging most of the time but having your inspirations around you and looking forward to the day that your small steps turned into a bigger moment of happiness and that is being #workfromhomemom and being with your family while earning for your future.
It’s a long process and rough road but if there’s a will, there’s a way, don’t give up and have faith in God and yourself. Everything is possible, with hard work, perseverance, and patience; you can reach your dreams.
So let’s go, to you out there either mama or not, We can do this; We can be #virtualassistant #freelance and #workathome individuals. Take your small step, be inspired, motivated by your loved ones. Let’s aim for life that we don’t need to choose between Career or Family. We can have both and be both for possibilities are unending virtually so I’ll see you down the road! And to you my future clients, I am sharpening my skills to take that first joy ride for your company to soar high. #virtualassistantservices #workathomemom
It will be a bumpy journey but I will never give up and continue towards my dream to be #freelance #virtualassistant #workathome mama para mi familia.
